Our Shipping Policies

We ship to the 48 contiguous states. For orders being shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, or internationally, please contact our customer service team at info@kimsalmela.com for assistance.

We have created flat rate shipping fees for all retail full priced items that ship standard ground FedEx or white glove based on the item and zip code. These rates are shown once an item is added to the cart.

If you are a designer or wholesaler, please contact us directly for shipping quotes.

All orders shipping with the state of California are subject to 9.5% sales tax.

Once an item leaves our warehouse, we take no responsibility for any damage occurred during shipping. Any damages are the responsibility of the receiver. The damaged item must be inspected and documented, then a claim must be made with the shipping company. We primarily ship through American West. Their claim form can be found at https://www.awest.com/online-forms/

 


Returns and Exchanges

Kim Salmela Atelier will accept returns for select textiles including pillows, rugs, and throws for exchange or refund. Please email info@kimsalmela.com within 7 days of the receipt of your order for return authorization from our customer service team. All items must be returned unused and in new condition with any tags still attached. Original shipping costs are not refundable and there is a 20% restocking fee for all returns. The customer is responsible for return shipping charges and items must be sent insured and with tracking. Kim Salmela Atelier is not responsible for lost or damaged products. Returns that are received damaged will be returned to the customer. Please allow 7 business days for us to process your returns.

Any custom orders including all furniture or sale items are Final Sale.

 


Our Warranty

Kim Salmela Atelier warrants that frames will be free from defects in workmanship and material for the lifetime of the product. Decorative exposed wood trim, including wooden legs, is not covered by this warranty.

Lifetime limited coverage warrants seat cushion cores against defects in workmanship, materials and construction. Failure to follow standard care procedures voids this warranty. Cushion softening due to normal fiber compression is not covered by this warranty. Deep cushions will compress up to 1” within the first year of use. This is a characteristic and not a quality defect.

Spring systems are warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and material for five years. Removal of springs from their original upholstered frame voids this warranty, unless done with prior consent from Kim Salmela Atelier.

Kim Salmela fabrics are warranted against manufacturing defects, seam slippage, fraying, and dye transfer for one year. Damage resulting from improper use, improper care, abuse or negligence or use of improper cleaning methods is not covered by the warranty. ANY RETAILER OR CONSUMER-APPLIED STAIN PROTECTION TREATMENT VOIDS THIS WARRANTY. Shrinking, pilling, facing, and/or heavy soiling are considered evidence of mistreatment and void the limited warranty.

Upholstered leathers are warranted against manufacturing defects, seam slippage and splitting for one year. Variations in color, grain, texture, patterns of original hair follicles, healed scars, brands and neck growth marks are inherent in leather and are not quality defects. Improper use, improper care, accidents, fading or change in color due to exposure to sunlight after purchase by the consumer, body oils, or perspiration are not warranted.
